Erika and Matt Lafata get ready for The Boss at TD Garden in Boston
Along with our 17 year-old son Connor, Erika and I attended
a Bruce Springsteen concert this past Monday night at TD Garden in Boston. As
many of you know, we are diehard Springsteen fans and have seen him many times.
What’s amazing about Bruce is that he and the E Street Band continue to get
better and better with age. I can’t name a single artist that is still making
relevant music for the past 40 years and if you haven’t heard his latest album,
“Wrecking Ball”, I suggest you stop what you are doing and pick up a copy. Absolute
genius.
In any event, the guy is 62 years-old and still plays a three-hour
concert with no opening act & doesn’t stop for a minute. He’s jumping on the piano, running
around the stage and even body surfs what looked like half the length of the arena! It is a high
energy show where the audience is completely exhausted by the end of the show.
If you have seen Bruce before, you know why he is called The Boss. If you have
never seen him, I truly hope you have the opportunity to do so at some point in
your lifetime.
A friend of mine said it the best the other night after seeing
the show in Philadelphia. “There is nothing better to experience in life than (the song) Born
to Run live. It’s like seeing Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon.”
I really
couldn’t have said it any better myself. - Matt Lafata
