Rain Delays Closure of US 289 One More Day
Weather and traffic conditions contribute to re-scheduling closure

FRISCO – Weather permitting, TxDOT will close the US 289 overpass at SH 380, both northbound and southbound, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2011 for paving.

Traffic both north and southbound will be diverted to the frontage roads at the exit ramps prior to the overpass. Motorists will then travel through the frontage road intersection at SH 289/US 380, and then enter the mainlanes of SH 289 at the next entrance ramp.

Message boards and detour signs have been placed ahead of the closure to notify and guide drivers approaching the project.

Mario Sinacola and Sons, Excavating Inc. is the contractor on this $10.2 million project to rebuild the SH 289 overpass. The project began in February of this year and is expected to be complete by January 2013.

TxDOT would like to thank area drivers for their continued patience and cooperation as crews work diligently to complete this vital project as soon, and as safely, as possible.
